Cyprus is situated in the Eastern Mediterranean linking Europe with the Middle East and the Far East. Cyprus covers an area of about 9.251km², making it the third largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily and Sardinia. Nicosia is about 35minutes drive from Larnaca International Airport and the sea. All Foreign Embassies are also located in Nicosia. It is worth noting that a number of English speaking kindergarden, elementary, high schools and Universities are situated in Nicosia. English speaking high schools prepare children to be admitted to local English speaking Universities, to Universities in UK and US as well as to Universities in other EU member countries.

The extremely low crime rate compared to other European countries, makes Cyprus one of the safest places to live.

Cyprus has excellent public hospitals and state of-the-art private clinics and hospitals. The high standard of healthcare compares favourably with other European countries.

The local population speaks Greek but most of the population speaks English as well. It is also worth noting that all directions signs, street signs, shops signs etc are written in English.

There are two International airports in Cyprus, one in Larnaca which is the main airport and one in Pafos which connect Cyprus with all countries of the world. Regarding inland transport there is a public transport services with regular connections between cities with scheduled taxi services and coaches. Taxis and rental cars are also available. Cyprus has excellent telecommunications which contributed to the development of the island.
